About Kamen Rider
Kamen
Rider is a long time japenese Toku franchise that is similar to Super
Sentai ( the source footage for Power Rangers). Kamen Rider has had
many incarnations in Japanese. All of which featured a single main
character that had the powet to transform or henshin into a
powerful
superhero. Usually fighting some sort of warped cirminal orginization.
In some cases one responsible for their very orgin. Kamen
Rider has
developed quite a fanbase in Japan, the US and around the world. After
a hatius,. it returned to the air in Japan. Every year there
is a new
Kamen Rider Incarnation.
Earlier US Adaptions
After
the success with Power Rangers ( importing its action scenes from Super
Sentai), a series of spin offs were produced to capitalize on the fad.
Using action footage from other popular Japanese Shows. One of these
spin offs was taking from one of the Kamen Rider Series. Taking the
name Masked Rider. Masked Rider featured an alien Prince named Dex.
Whose planet was conquered and enslaved by his corrupt Uncle, Count
Dragon. Dragon needed more forces for his army, so targeted Earth to
enslave. Dex was sent to Earth to prevent its conquestion, using the
ancient Mask Rider Powers. Dex was adopted by a culturally blended
foster family. Givening him the family he never had. Dex was a truly
introduced in Season 3 of Mighty Morphing Power Rangers. Just before
Masked Rider debuted on Fox Kids. Masked Rider lasted for one season
before production was discontinued. No other Kamen Rider adaption was
attempted. Saban Entertianment eventually lost the
US rights to any
future Kamen Rider adaption. So Disney did not hold such rights when
they bought Saban Entertianment. They do own the Masked Rider TV
series.
Kamen Rider Dragon Knight

2006, word leaked out on the internet that a piolet was being

Dragon Knight and is an adaption of Kamen Rider Ryuki.

not yet known what station the actual show will air on. Mike and Steve
Wang are heading the production up. Dragon Knight centers around Kit, a
young man looking for his missing father. Who winds up geting invovled
in the search for the Kamen Rider key cards, himself becoming Kamen
Rider Dragon Knight. The series is set for a release sometime in 2008.
